Frequently asked questions
Does a report signed on a phone count?
Yes, for most reports, since the law usually prescribes no form for them, so an electronically signed report counts too. In court it is evidence: an electronic signature can't be denied legal effect just because it's electronic (Art. 25 eIDAS Regulation), and the court decides how much it proves. The PDF carries a timestamp and a verification code, and shows who signed it. Where the law requires a document signed by hand, such as notice to end a tenancy or a guarantee, that isn't enough. Fiveover doesn't give legal advice.
Does the other side need an account or an app?
No. If they sign, they do it on your phone with their name and a finger (their email is optional), on their own phone from a QR code, or later from an email link. Nothing to install.
Does a report need the other side's signature?
No. The report is yours, and it's sealed when you finish. The PDF shows who signed it. Some forms offer the other side's signature from the start, and you can add it to any. They can add one remark, printed as they wrote it.
What happens to my photos?
They're stored encrypted on servers in Frankfurt, Germany, printed into your PDF and deleted three years after sealing. Photos you take with Fiveover's camera or add to a report go to OpenAI so AI can read them and put each where it belongs; OpenAI doesn't train on them. We may use them, without what identifies people, to improve Fiveover and train AI, unless you switch off "Let Fiveover learn from my reports" in your account.
Can the report be changed after it's sealed?
No, and that's the point. Finishing locks the content and seals the PDF, and any later change to the file shows. If something comes up later, start a new report.
What happens to what I say?
While the microphone is on, what you say goes to AssemblyAI in the EU and comes back as text. Without signal, the phone keeps the recording and sends it later. AI writes the report from that text. We never store the audio, AssemblyAI deletes audio and text once converted, and we delete the transcript 48 hours after the report is finished. If people are with you, tell them you're recording.
